Murray Becomes Baseball's Most Decorated Underclassman
6/19/2017 10:29:00 AM | Baseball
Kent State's Joey Murray, the 2017 Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Year, has been named an American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Third Team All-American.
This marks the second All-American accolade for Murray, who was named to Collegiate Baseball's Second Team earlier this month.
Murray went 6-1 in his sophomore season with a 1.80 ERA. He struck out 110 batters while walking just 32 in 75.0 innings across 14 starts.
Being on two All-American lists as a sophomore is unprecedented in Kent State baseball history: Murray can now claim to be the most honored Golden Flashes underclassman.
