Walker Named MAC Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio- Senior guard Jaylin Walker earned Mid-American Conference Athlete of the Week accolades after leading the Kent State men's basketball team with a 83-76 win over Wright State, announced by the Mid-American Conference on Monday.Â
Walker led Kent State to its sixth straight victory in an 83-76 win over Wright State. Walker finished with a game-high 23 points, the third time this season he has scored 20+ points. He went 6-of-11 (54.5 percent) from the field,3-of-6 (50 percent) from 3-point range, and went 10-of-11 (90.9 percent) from the charity stripe. Â In addition to Walker's scoring efforts, he brought down a team-high seven rebounds and had two takeaways.
On the season, Walker is averaging 24.5 points per game and 5.5 rebounds.
Kent State travels to Kentucky for a matchup against Louisville on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 4 p.m.
