Balanced Flashes Defeat Bonnies to Begin Road Trip

OLEAN, N.Y. – All five starters scored at least eight points to help Kent State secure a wire-to-wire victory over St. Bonaventure, 76-64, Monday night inside of the Reilly Center. The Golden Flashes have now won back-to-back road games.
Kent State (5-4) posted its highest-scoring game of the season, as all nine players who played entered the scoring column. The Flashes shot 28-for-54 from the field for a season-best 51.9 percent and registered a season-best 15 assists.
Freshman Asiah Dingle scored a career-high 17 points and added a game-high five assists. Freshman Lindsey Thall and junior Ali Poole were also in double-figures with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Redshirt junior Megan Carter had nine points and shared the team lead with six rebounds. Senior Alexa Golden added eight.
The Flashes received quality minutes from their bench, which contributed 15 points. Freshman Hannah Young led the reserves with six points. Senior Merissa Barber-Smith grabbed six rebounds and blocked three shots in 12 minutes of action. Freshman Mariah Modkins had a career-high four assists.
Kent State remains on the road and will play at NJIT on Friday, Dec. 21.
