RAVENNA, Ohio—The Kent State University baseball team held its annual alumni golf outing at Windmill Lakes Golf Course in Ravenna, Ohio on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 23. Alumni joined the current team and coaching staff in a day to celebrate the Kent State baseball program.
"It was good to see our alums from many decades to celebrate this awesome baseball program," head coach Jeff Duncan said, "This group is unique and special! We have a great tradition and tremendous pride."
Four Varsity "K" Hall of Famers were in attendance, including former Big Leaguer John Van Benschoten, Pat Bangston, Mike Bishop and Jeff Tabaka, in addition to members from the 2012 College World Series team, Jason Bagoly, David Lyon, David Starn, and Ryan Mace.
"It was a great day to celebrate Kent State Baseball," Duncan added, "They have left a footprint of success in this program and our current team is aware of that and will wear the uniform with the kind of pride they did."
The day started with a putting contest followed by a full round of golf, and featured prizes for the longest drive, raffles, and a group dinner to end the event.
