Williams Takes Home Vault Title in Season Opener

Chicago, Ill. – The Kent State Gymnastics team began its season on the road in Chicago, finishing second in the UIC Quad against UIC, UW-Oshkosh and Centenary College. UIC picked up the victory with an overall team score of 194.200.
Senior Dara Williams was the lone event winner for the Flashes, scoring a 9.750 and taking home the vault title. Williams also tied for the second best score on the team with a 9.650 on bars.
Sophomore Abby Fletcher paced the Golden Flashes on the floor with a score of 9.800 which tied for third overall. She also recorded a 9.725 on vault.
The Flashes will host George Washington in the home opener next Sunday, January 20 in the M.A.C. Center at 1 p.m.
