
Flashes Ready for First Road Test with Towson

KENT, Ohio- The Kent State University men's basketball team will hit the road for the first time this season as the Flashes travel to Maryland to play Towson on Monday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m.
Monday's game will serve as an Autism Awareness game, a meaningful game for both teams. Towson's head coach Pat Skerry has been a national leader in raising awareness through Coaches Powering Forward for Autism benefit.

Last Meeting: The Flashes and Tigers last met back in 1979 with Towson defeating Kent State, 74-67. Kent State claimed a 74-67 victory however, the victory was later forfeited to Towson because Kent State used an ineligible player.
FLASH FACTS
- The Kent State men's basketball program opened its season at home on Tuesday with a 97-58 victory over Division III opponent Hiram.
- The Flashes had four players who scored in double figures with sophomore Anthony Roberts leading the way with a career-high 18 points. Seniors Antonio WIlliams and Troy Simons added 17 points, while junior Danny Pippen, who missed last season due to an injury recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.
- Freshman Giovanni Santiago dished out 10 assists, a career-best and the most assists a freshman has recorded in a single game in the program history.
- Kent State shot 43.4 percent (36-83) from the floor, and 13-25 (37.1 percent) from long range. Defensively, the Flashes held the Terriers to 33.3 percent (21-63) shooting from the field and 33.3 percent (9-27) from long range.
SCOUTING TOWSON
- The Tigers, under the direction of eight-year head coach Pat Skerry, have started the season 2-0 after wins over George Washington and Bryn Athyn. Towson opened the season with a 72-58 vicory over George Washington, followed by a 100-31 win over Bryn Athyn.
- Through two games, the Tigers have five players averaging in double-figure scoring with Haughton leading the way with 17 ppg. Gray is averaging 15 points, Allen Betrand is scoring 13 points per game, and Gibson and Brian Fobbs are averaging just over 11.
- Towson is shooting 49 percent (72-147) from the field and 16-of-37 (43.2 percent) from beyond the arc.
