Volleyball Falls at First-Place Miami

OXFORD, Ohio – Sophomore Erin Gardner tallied a match-high 23 digs as Kent State dropped a 3-0 decision (17-25, 17-25, 18-25) to first-place Miami inside of Millett Hall on Saturday afternoon.
Following one the best offensive performances of the season in a 3-1 victory at Bowling Green on Friday, the Golden Flashes (12-12, 5-7 MAC) posted jut 32 kills and a .047 hitting percentage against the RedHawks.
For the second night in a row, middle blockers Danie Tyson and Myla King provided solid attacking options. Tyson registered a team-best eight kills and King added six kills. Both players totaled three blocks.
Redshirt sophomore Alex Haffner led Kent State with 28 assists and added eight digs. Freshman Savannah Matthews and junior Kaleigh Stang also tallied eight digs.
Kent State will conclude its five-match road swing on Thursday, Nov. 7 at Ohio. The Flashes will then return to the M.A.C. Center to host Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Nov. 9.
