KENT, OHIO- Kent State quarterback Dustin Crum earned the Mid-American Conference East Division's Co-Player of the Week for his efforts against Ball State on Saturday.
In addition to the MAC accolades, Crum is one of eight quarterbacks that are up for the weekly Manning Award "Star of the Week" fans can log on to Facebook and vote for Crum's performance as their favorite of the week.
The junior had a career day for the Golden Flashes, setting career best marks in both passing yards (369) and rushing yards (101) while totaling four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing). His 470 yards of total offense are the most in a Kent State victory in school history and the most overall since 1997. His 369 passing yards were the most by a Kent State quarterback since 2014. Crum also became the first Kent State quarterback to throw for at least 300 and rush for at least 100 yards in a game since Josh Cribbs did it in 2004.
With the three-passing touchdown effort, that gives Crum 18 touchdown passes on the season, good for third all-time in school history. Thirteen of his 18 touchdown passes have gone for 20 yards or more, including all seven to wide receiver Isaiah McKoy, who caught all three touchdowns on Saturday. Showcasing Crum's big play ability through the air, the junior is averaging 31.5 yards per touchdown pass this season.
Crum's performance helped the Golden Flashes down Ball State 41-38 and move to 5-6 on the season. Kent State will look to make it three-straight victories and get to 6-6 on the season on Friday when they travel to take on Eastern Michigan. Kick time is set for noon on Black Friday.
