Softball Drops Series Opener at #25 Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Kent State (6-12) dropped an 8-0 five-inning contest to #25 Michigan (13-10) to begin the final non-conference weekend series of the season Thursday evening at Alumni Field.
The host Wolverines struck for two runs in the bottom of the first. Michigan added four runs in the second, followed by a run in the fourth and the final run in the fifth.
Kennadie Goth tallied the Golden Flashes' only hit, an infield single in the first inning.
Andrea Scali (6-4) registered four strikeouts in two innings inside the circle, while Madi Huck fanned one in 2.1 innings of relief work.
Kent State will return to Ann Arbor on Sunday for the final two games of the series. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
