Williams Earns Ninth Event Win in Regular Season Finale

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Kent State gymnastics team wrapped up its regular season against Eastern Michigan, where the Golden Flashes fell 196.025-193.900.
Senior Dara Williams led the Flashes with a first-place finish on vault and a third-place finish on bars. Williams earned her ninth individual event win of the season and her 12th top-three finish. The team captain has finished in the top-five on vault in every event this season and in the top-10 in every event on bars.
Sophomore Abby Fletcher finished in third place on vault (9.750), fourth place on beam (9.775) and ninth place on floor (9.775). Sophomore Toshi Richard finished third on floor with a 9.825, while Freshman Madison Trott and junior Jade Brown both scored a 9.800 on floor to finish in fifth place.
Eastern Michigan was led by sophomore Jada Rondeau and junior Emili Dobronics in the all-around, scoring 39.275 and 39.225, respectively. The Eagles recorded a season-high team score of 196.025, while posting season-high scores on bars (48.975) and beam (49.075).
Up Next
Kent State will head to DeKalb, Illinois to compete in the 2019 MAC Championship on Saturday, March 23. Competition is set to begin at 2 p.m.
