Williams Earns Second Team All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State senior Dara Williams has been named All-Mid-American Conference Gymnastics Second Team, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Williams has competed on vault and bars this season for the 38th-ranked Golden Flashes. She has the second best average in the MAC on bars (9.805) and ranks second on vault (9.800). Williams is one of just three MAC competitors with a top-six NQS on multiple events. She has finished in the top-five in 11 out of 12 MAC events and has recorded nine individual event titles on the season, including six first-place finishes in MAC competition.
The team captain recorded a career-best 9.925 on bars against Western Michigan, which is the highest score on bars by any MAC gymnast this season. She has a 100 percent success rate this season and has scored a 9.650 or higher on every routine. She has recorded a 9.800+ and top-three finishes in nine of her 11 meets on bars, while scoring a 9.750+ on vault in every meet and finishing top-three in nine of the 11 meets.
Kent State will head to DeKalb, Illinois to compete in the 2019 MAC Championship on Saturday, March 23. Competition is set to begin at 2 p.m. and the event will be streamed on ESPN3.
