
Yeargin Matches Own 200m Record to Lead the Way in Friday Track and Field Action

Jesse Owens Classic Results Tom Jones Memorial Results
Kent State's Nicole Yeargin tied her own school record in the women's 200-meter dash as members of the track and field program were in action at two different meets on Friday.
Competing in the event for just the second time during the outdoor season, Yeargin clocked a time of 23.26 at the University of Florida's Tom Jones Memorial. She set the school record with the same time at the Tennessee Relays two weekends ago. Yeargin finished second among collegians and seventh overall in the race.
Samory Fraga was the top collegiate in the men's long jump, soaring 24'-7" to place fourth overall. Talia Falco placed 17th in the women's long jump with a top mark of 18'-7.25".
At the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Brandon Avers and Clark Bookman ran strong 5,000-meter. Avers won the first section of the event in a time of 15:11.20 for his first collegiate 5K title. In the men's 5K showcase race, Bookman crossed the finish line in 15:00.75 to place second.
Maddie Dunlap (17:47.43) took fourth in the women's 5K showcase, while Rachel Banks (4:40.41) took ninth to in the women's 1500-meter run.
Jake Wickey was the lone Golden Flash that competed in a field event in Columbus, taking fourth-place in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 192'-4".
The Golden Flashes will be back in action on Saturday. Live results will be available to follow competition at both the Jesse Owens Classic and Tom Jones Memorial, with the latter being broadcast on SEC Network + from 1-5:15 p.m.
