Tennant Wins Javelin Throw to Open Campbell/Wright Invitational

AKRON, Ohio — Kent State's Grace Tennant got the Campbell/Wright Invitational started Friday afternoon by winning the women's javelin throw with a top mark of 146-3".
Throwing javelin for the first time this season, Tennant set a new personal-best mark on her first attempt of the competition.
Jake Wickey took second in the men's hammer with a top throw of 193'-8".
Bradley Heck was also in action for Kent State and finished sixth in the men's javelin with a top throw of 165'-6".
The Golden Flashes will conclude competition at the Campbell/Wright Invitational on Saturday. Running events will be held at Walsh Jesuit High School (MAP) in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio from 11:30 a.m. to approximately 1:30 p.m. The competition will conclude with the remaining field events at the University of Akron's Lee R. Jackson Track and Field Complex starting at 2:30 p.m.
