Crum Earns MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week

KENT, Ohio – Junior quarterback Dustin Crum is adding another accolade to his long list following Kent State's dominant win over Bowing Green. Crum was named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week after being named the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
The Scholar Athlete of the Week Award is presented to a MAC male and/or female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. Crum exceeds off the field in the classroom as well as on the field. He posts a 3.285 GPA as an Aeronautical Systems Engineering major.
Crum picked apart the Falcons' defense on Saturday, throwing for a career-high 310 yards and three touchdowns. He added 65 yards on the ground, bringing his season total to 140 yards. Crum's career performance marked the first three-touchdown game by a Kent State quarterback since Mylik Mitchell in 2016.
The Grafton, Ohio, native was extremely efficient in the Flashes' win. He completed 26 of his 31 passes, the highest completion percentage by a Kent State quarterback since 2015. He linked up with Mike Carrigan on a 53-yard touchdown strike. It was the third consecutive game that Crum has thrown a touchdown pass of 50 or more yards.
The Flashes will return to the field on Saturday, Oct. 5, for a noon kickoff against the #8 Wisconsin Badgers in Madison, Wisc. The Badgers will be the Flashes' eighth Big Ten opponent since 2013.
