Baseball Hosts Malone in Tuesday Night Exhibition

KENT, OHIO- The Golden Flashes baseball team wraps up its fall season schedule with a Tuesday night exhibition against Malone.Â
Kent State is coming off a 14-9 setback against the Michigan State Spartans in Sandusky on Sunday, September 22nd. Several Kent State pitchers saw their first live action of the fall and the offense produced back-to-back-to-back home runs as part of a five-run frame.
The Golden Flashes and Malone Pioneers are no strangers to each other on the diamond. The teams have split their previous 12 regular-season meetings, Kent State got the better of the Pioneers last year, in a 14-6 victory.Â
Malone is coming off a strong 33-18 campaign that ended in their conference tournament. Their leading hitter from last year, Turner Hill, returns for his junior season. Hill hit 335 last season to lead the team. The Pioneers wil have to replace Matt Noel, who led the Pioneers in RBI with 40. On the mound, the Pioneers welcome back their wins leader from the 2019 season in Clyde Yoder, the righty went 8-3 with a 3.22 earned run average.Â
First pitch from Mural Field at Schoonover Stadium is set for 6 p.m.Â
