KENT, Ohio- The Kent State men's basketball team is back on the road as the Flashes travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. on Saturday to take on Western Michigan. Tip time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Last season the two teams met twice with KSU sweeping WMU. The Flashes came away with an 88-73 win over WMU at home, followed by an 82-63 win in Kalamazoo.
LAST TIME OUT
The Kent State men's basketball team dropped to 13-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play after a 77-74 loss on the road at Miami. Despite a second half surge by the Flashes that erased a 17-point deficit, the Miami RedHawks connected seven of their last eight shots to claim the victory. Senior Troy Simons led the Flashes with a career-high 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor and connecting on 6 three pointers. Sophomore Anthony Roberts added 19 points and two rebounds, while junior Danny Pippen rounded out the double-figure scoring with 12 points. Neither team helped its cause at the free throw line as Miami shot 23 of 35 and Kent State went 8 of 15. Miami led 31-21 at halftime and managed to overcome Kent State's 53 points after the break. The Flashes made 14 of 30 (46.7 percent) from beyond the 3-point arc.
On the season, the Flashes are shooting 46.1 percent (493-1069) from the floor and 158 (36.0 percent) from long range. Williams leads the team averaging (14.1ppg) and Whittington leads the team in rebounds averaging 6.6 boards a game.

WMU came up short against Bowling Green, 85-82 .After trailing by nine with under three minutes to play the Western Michigan men's basketball team rallied back and nearly completed its comeback as its game-tying shot bounced off the left side of the rim. WMU had four players score in double figures led by Flowers with 28 points on 11-of-21 shooting from the field. Flowers registered his fourth 20-point game of the season and 16th of his career. Flowers was also 6-of-8 from the free-throw line to go along with four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Flowers has scored in double-figures in 20-straight games. The Broncos have two players averaging in double-figures with Flowers (18.1 ppg) and Brandon Johnson (15.3 ppg).
Defensively, WMU has held its opponents to score 73.5 points per game on 43.4 percent shooting from the field and 32.6 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
