
Flashes Fall on the Road to WMU

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Kent State men's basketball team dropped its road match at Western Michigan on Saturday afternoon, 67-63.
Kent State drops to 13-5 overall and 3-2 overall in MAC Play.
The Flashes used a 17-2 run in the second half to take a 53-43 lead with 9:35 left to play. Western Michigan answered back with an 11-3 run that tied the game at 58 with three minutes remaining. The Broncos used a stretch of key offensive rebounds and second chance buckets to get back in the game and ultimately snag the lead.
Kent State was held scoreless in the final four minutes of the first half and then went the final 4:39 of the second without a field goal. The result spoiled yet another fine outing by sophomore Anthony Roberts who went 8-12 with 19 points in 27 minutes.
Senior Antonio Williams added 15 points while senior Troy Simons rounded out the double-figure scoring with 12 points. Junior Danny Pippen led the team with six boards to go with his nine points.
After the back-to-back road losses, KSU returns home to face Northern Illinois on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
