Flashes Pick Up Second Straight Quad Win

DENTON, Texas – The Kent State gymnastics team secured its second-consecutive quad win with wins over Texas Woman's, Lindenwood and UW-Oshkosh. The Golden Flashes put together a team score of 194.950.
The Flashes posted a season-high 49.100 on floor, a 48.850 on vault, a 48.825 on bars and a 48.125 on beam. All five scores for Kent State on floor were 9.800 or better.
"We are happy to come away with the wins today, but there is still room for improvement," said Head Coach Brice Biggin. "We have a lot of talent. It is a process, and the girls are working hard and working well as a team."
Freshman Karlie Franz scored a career-high 9.850 on floor, a career-high 9.825 on bars, a 9.775 on vault and a 9.750 on beam to finish with an all-around score of 39.200.
Fellow freshman Olivia Amodei recorded a career-high 9.800 on bars, a career-high 9.725 on beam, a 9.800 on vault and a 9.800 on floor to finish with a 39.125 all-around score.
Sophomore Riley Danielson posted a career-high 9.850 on beam, while Nasha Manitkul-Davis led the Flashes on vault with a career-high 9.850. Manitkul-Davis also posted a 9.825 on floor.
The reigning Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week, freshman Rachel DeCavitch, followed her all-star performance with a 9.800 on floor, a 9.800 on vault and a 9.775 on bars.
Senior Jade Brown recorded a 9.825 on floor and a 9.750 on bars.
The Golden Flashes will look to continue their impressive two-week streak in the M.A.C.
