Flashes Fall on the Road to Ohio

ATHENS, Ohio- The Kent State men's basketball team fell to Ohio, 76-69, on Friday night at the Convocation Center. With the loss, Kent State drops to 18-11 overall and 8-8 in league play.
The Flashes were led by Antonio Williams who scored 22 points on 7-of-16 shooting and brought down seven rebounds. Williams is averaging 24.3 points over his last three games. Senior Troy Simons added 11 points, while Philip Whittington rounded out the double-figure scoring with 10 points and eight boards.
Kent State took a 58-57 lead with 3:41 left to play, but Ohio out-scored the shorthanded Flashes 19-11 the rest of the way.
Kent State shot 24-of-58 (41.4 percent) from the floor and 8-of-25 (32 percent) from long range, while Ohio went 23-of-50 (46 percent) from the floor and only 25 percent (5-of-20) from beyond the arc. The Bobcats were able to hit 25 of 32 foul shots, while the Flashes made 13 of 16 of their free throws.
The Flashes return for their last home game of the regular season on Tuesday night as Kent State will face Bowling Green. Tuesday's game will honor Kent State's five seniors. Tip time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
