Flashes Round Out Class With 10 Signees

KENT, OHIO- Kent State football program announced on Wednesday the addition the addition of 10 incoming student-athletes who signed their letters of intent on Wednesday during the winter signing period.
These 10 student athletes join the 12 student athletes who signed letters of intent during the early signing period in December. These 10 student-athletes include seven players on defense, two on offense and one on special teams. The February signing class represents seven different states and an international prospect (Australia).
Kent State is coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history. The Flashes won their final four games of the season to finish 7-6 and defeated Utah State in the Tropical Smoothie Café Frisco Bowl, the first bowl victory in program history.
The 2020 Spring Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 11th. Season tickets for the 2020 home season are on sale now.
Tyler Berrong(ILB) 6-3 220| Atlantic | (Port Orange, FL)
- First-team All-Conference for the second time in three seasons, leading the Sharks with 94 total tackles (49 solo), 11.5 sacks and 24 tackles for loss.
Griffin Brewster (QB) 6-2 205| Darlington School | (Rome, GA)
- Led Darlington school to 9-2 record as a senior was a three-year starter at Darlington School
Marquail Coaxum (CB) 5-10 160 |Cartersville | (Cartersville, GA)
- Two-way player for Cartersville, named All-County as a senior…Recorded 47 tackles with seven passes defended and a forced fumble
Terrell Miller (CB) 6-0 165 | Creekside | (Fairburn, GA)
- Named All-Region at Defensive Back…Totaled 73 tackles in 12 games with an interception and forced fumble…Also returned kicks
Tyler Roberson (DE) 6-3 255 | Trinity | (Louisville, KY)
- Helped Trinity to state title, recorded 79 tackles including 15.5 sacks and two forced fumbles
Josh Smith (P) 6-0 185| Australia
- Rugby style punter…Product of the Pro Kick Australia Kicking Academy
Tyler Thomas (OL) 6-4 290 | St. Frances Academy | (Baltimore, MD)
- Played at HS power St. Frances Academy, starting at both center and guard
Tynan Tucker (S) 5-11 185 | Statesville | (Statesville, NC)
- Named All-North Piedmont Conference…Totaled 78 tackles as a defensive back including three tackles for loss… Credited with three interceptions, forced four fumbles, recovering one and blocked a punt
CJ West (DL) 6-2 305| Nazareth Academy | (LaGrange Park, IL)
- Named All-East Suburban Catholic Conference…Had interest from Minnesota and several MAC teams…Helped Nazareth to state runner-up
Michael West (OLB) 6-5 210| Christian Brothers College Prep | (St. Louis, MO)
- Named All-State by Max Preps…Served as team captain…Recorded 68 tackles and six sacks for Christian Brothers, helping them to an 8-3 record in 2019
