Highlights of A Shortened Season

KENT, OHIO- While the record doesn't necessarily show it, 2020 was shaping up to be a special season for the Kent State baseball team.
The Golden Flashes went 7-7 during season-opening trips to Florida, South Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia, slogging through the ups and downs northern clubs typically experience in the months of February and March.
"I thought we played really well early, then we hit a little bit of a skid in the middle," said Flashes coach Jeff Duncan. "It seems like we do that every year. No matter how good we are, when we're on the road for the first 14 games, we get a little jet lag, then we rebound when we start playing close to home. We were getting to that point. We had the foundation set to be very good. It's too bad it got taken away."
