KENT, Ohio — Leah Pasqualetti, the No. 1 pole vault recruit in the class of 2020, will join the Kent State track and field program next season after recently signing a National Letter of Intent. The Orchard Park, New York native owns the No. 4 mark in U.S. prep indoor history with a vault of 14'-3" last month.
"We are incredibly excited to have Leah join the Kent State track and field program," Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Bill Lawson said. "Leah is an extremely gifted athlete and a tremendous student with outstanding character. We would like to thank Leah's coaches and support group for their help, patience and guidance during the recruiting process. Thank you Pasqualleti family for believing is us. We believe in Leah, and the sky is the limit for her."
Pasqualetti has cleared 14' twice this year, and her lifetime PR is the best indoor mark by a high school competitor this year and ranks sixth all-time (indoor or outdoor). She won her second New York state indoor title in a row over the weekend. During her junior season, she placed fifth at New Balance nationals.
