KENT, OHIO- A former Kent State student-athlete and their family has made an anonymous donation to the "Pay it Flash Forward Emergency Fund" and is challenging former student-athletes to do the same.
"In times of great need, we must pull together to help those in need," the anonymous donor said.
The Pay it Flash Forward Emergency Fund assists Kent State students who are unexpectedly finding themselves in financial need as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was established on April 2nd and has helped more than 500 students so far. Â
"What a terrific gesture by this former Golden Flash!" said Kent State athletic director Joel Nielsen. "It's truly a reflection of what it means to be part of the #FlashesForever family."Â Â
"Our students need us now more than ever," Kent State President Todd Diacon added. "I am confident that our Golden Flash family will answer that call, because despite the uncertainty we are all facing at this time, there is one thing that remains constant: Flashes take care of Flashes."
Those that want to assist and make a donation to the emergency fund can do so here.
