
Pair of Golden Flashes Race to Top-50 Finishes at NCAA Great Lakes Regional

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Senior Drew Johnson and freshman Baidy Ba posted Kent State's first top-50 finishes at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships since 2014 during the men's 10K race on Friday afternoon at Angel Mounds Cross Country Course.
Johnson crossed the finish line in a personal-best time of 30:55.6 to place 44th, which is tied for the best finish by a Golden Flash since Michael Heller qualified for the NCAA Championships with a 10th-place effort in 2012. Ba was close behind and took 49th in a time of 31:02.8.
Graduate student Stephanie Ward led the way in the women's 6K race, placing 71st in a time of 21:21.3. Senior Leah Lisle also ran a sub-22 minute race and crossed the finish line in 21:58.8 for 98th place.
