Flashes Celebrate the Graduation of 21 Student Athletes

KENT, OHIO- Kent State celebrated its first in-person graduation in two years this weekend with 21 Kent State student-athletes earning their degrees.
The athletics department celebrated graduation with two ceremonies. The traditional ceremony on campus and one out in Boise, Idaho with the football team as they prepare for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
"This is such a special and unique opportunity for us to celebrate the success of our student-athletes both on the playing surface and in the classroom," said Director of Athletics Randale Richmond. "We cannot thank our academic support staff and university leadership enough for their assistance in making these special events possible. We are thrilled to celebrate our graduating student-athletes in Kent, Ohio and during a very special event hosted in Boise, Idaho for the football team."
Nineteen different majors were represented amongst the student-athlete graduates and eight teams (baseball, women's basketball, field hockey, football, women's golf, soccer, volleyball, wrestling) were represented.
Putting an emphasis on STUDENT-athlete, the graduates combined for a 3.433 grade-point average. Alex Haffner (volleyball), Katherine Kovacs (soccer) and Antwaine Richardson (football) all earned their second degrees.
