
Football Lands Three on Academic All-District Squad

KENT- A trio of Golden Flashes were named Academic-All District for their work on the field and in the classroom as announced by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon.
Long snapper Brad George, offensive lineman Marcellus Marshall and wide receiver Devontez Walker all earned the honors.
George is a hospitality management major with a 3.77 grade-point average. A two-year long snapper for the Flashes, he has helped a special teams unit limit opponents to one-yard per punt return in MAC play.
Marcellus Marshall is a construction management major with a 3.65 grade-point average. Marshall has stepped into a starting role on the offensive line in the 2022 season. With Marshall on the line, the Flashes are a top-25 team in the FBS at 201 yards per game and the MAC's top rushing attack. In the passing game, Marshall and the offensive line are top-three in the MAC in pass protection and helped the offense be one of the tops in the conference in total offense.
Walker is one of the top receivers in the Mid-American Conference and owns a 3.78 grade-point average in sports performance. He has enjoyed a breakout season, leading the MAC in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. His 10 touchdown catches are tops in the MAC and fifth in the FBS. He became the first Golden Flash with two receiving touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in the Wagon Wheel rivalry game.
The trio now advance on to the national ballot for Academic All-America. The Academic All-America team will be announced on December 20th.
