CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Sincere Carry was named the Mid-American Conference's co-Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Monday.Â
Carry began the week with an incredible 42-point performance in a victory over Ball State. His 42 points are the most in a single game by any MAC player this season and ranks 4th in program history. Nobody at Kent State has scored more points in a game in the last 68 years. Carry did most of his damage from behind the arc, where he made a program record 10 three-pointers. He also posted six assists and three steals in the game against the Cardinals.
After his historic performance against Ball State he continued his dominance at Central Michigan. The redshirt junior guard finished the game with his 11th 20-point performance of the season, including 13 in the second half to lead the Flashes to a come-from-behind road win. Carry made the game-winning and-one layup with 25 seconds remaining which gave the Flashes a 73-71 win. Carry shot lights out from long range where he was 12-for-23 (.522) on the week. He helped the Flashes on the defensive end as well, posting three steals in each game and defending CMU's game-tying shot attempt as the clock expired.
The Solon, Ohio, native is in the running for MAC Player of the Year and he ranks in the top-five in the conference in points (20.6) and assists (4.4) per game in conference play. Carry also leads the conference in minutes played.Â
