
Track and Field Concludes First Outdoor Weekend at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Kent State track and field program wrapped up its first weekend of the outdoor season Saturday at the Raleigh Relays.
The Golden Flashes posted fifth-place finishes in both men's relay races on the day. Mondo Colome, Asa Hodrick, Korie Davis II and Jaheim Jones recorded a time of 41.15 seconds in the 4x100 early in the afternoon, while Hodrick, Quintin Cooks, Davis II and Jonathan Solomon crossed the finish line in 3:14.77 in the day's final event.
In individual competition, Jake Wickey led the way in the men's hammer throw. Wickey's top throw of 203'-7" was good for seventh place. On the women's side, Briana Wright (176'-4") and Marissa Henley (175'-5") placed 14th and 15th, respectively.
Kent State placed three in the top 20 of the men's long jump. Alexander Shields finished 15th with a mark of 22'-11.75". Brian Phillips was right behind at 22'-11.25" for 16th. Del'Mario Hairston had a top jump of 22'-7.25", good for 18th place.
The Flashes will return to action at the Northeast Ohio Quad, which will be hosted by at Ashland on Saturday, April 2.
