Soccer Can't Get Past Pitt

PITTSBURGH – The Kent State soccer team fell to Pitt in its second consecutive road match on Wednesday, losing 7-0.
Pitt (5-0) got the scoring started early, taking a 1-0 in the sixth minute of play. Five minutes later, the Panthers added another score of a cross from the near corner. The Golden Flashes defense was then able to find their footing and limited the Pitt offense for a stretch, but a goal just before the halftime whistle extended the Panthers' lead going into the break.
Pitt added four more goals in the second half to take away any comeback chance the Golden Flashes had.
Offensively, Kent State (0-3-1) generated only three shots on the night, having to play on the back foot for most of the match.
The Golden Flashes will look to bounce back on Sunday, Sept. 4, when the Flashes take on Loyola in Baltimore at 5 P.M. The first-ever meeting between the two schools will be streamed live on ESPN+.
