
Two Dual Weekend Opens with Alumni Night vs SIUE

KENT- The Golden Flashes have a busy home weekend ahead with a pair of dual meets, the Flashes will welcome in SIU-Edwardsville on Friday night and Clarion on Sunday afternoon.
Friday night's match will begin at 6 p.m. inside the Kent State Field House. Fans who have a ticket to Friday night's 9 p.m. men's basketball game will get free admission to the dual. Tickets to the wrestling dual will also be good for a free general admission ticket to the basketball game. The wrestling team will also host an alumni night and Friday night is also "Welcome Back Students" night with a winter hat giveaway!
The Flashes will welcome in Clarion on Sunday for a 1 p.m. start inside the M.A.C. Center. It is the return of "Beauty and the Beast" with the Kent State gymnastics team taking on Western Michigan in a simultaneous dual inside the M.A.C. Center.

Kent State dropped a hard-fought dual at Buffalo on Sunday, 22-13. The Flashes got wins from Jake Ferri, Kody Komara and Blake Schaffer on Sunday. Schaffer recorded his first collegiate pin in a dominant victory at 197 pounds.
SIU-E comes into Friday night's match ranked third in the latest Mid-American Conference team rankings. They are led by Colton McKiernan, the top-ranked conference wrestler at 285 pounds and is 18-3 on the season. One potential matchup to watch for will be at 149 pounds where Caleb Tyus and Kody Komara could square off, they are ranked third and fourth by the MAC, respectfully.
Clarion is ranked sixth in the January MAC rankings. Will Feldkamp is their top wrestler and leads the MAC rankings at 184 pounds and is ranked 30th in the first NCAA rankings. The Golden Eagles' Kyle Schickel also debuted in the NCAA rankings at #33 at 149 pounds and lines up to be a quality matchup for Komara once again this weekend. Both duals this weekend will be streamed free of charge through Box Cast. Sunday's Beauty and the Beast broadcast will be a mega cast of both the gymnastics and wrestling duals. Links to the broadcasts as well as live stats are available on the wrestling schedule page.
The Flashes hit the road for another two-dual week next weekend, heading to Ohio and Central Michigan. First up is the annual grudge match with the Ohio Bobcats. Next Friday's dual is set for 7 p.m. from Athens.
