
Flashes Take on First Road MAC Game

Miami, Oh - The Kent State men's basketball team (11-3) takes conference play on the road to the Miami University Redhawks (6-8).Â
In the previous five matchups against the Redhawks, the Flashes have taken home the win. The last time the teams battled was in Cleveland, Ohio for the MAC Tournament. The Flashes defeated the Redhawks 85-75 and Malique Jacobs recorded a game-high 21 points and three steals.Â
The Flashes three losses on the road were  Houston, Gongaza, and Charleston who are all ranked within the Top 25 AP Poll this year. At the beginning of the week, Kent State captured the win against Western Michigan, 80-72. The Flashes struggled in the starting minutes and had two players foul out, but made up for it by going 92 percent from the free throw line.
Scoring leader Sincere Carry goes into tomorrow afternoon's game averaging 16.3 points and 4.9 assists per game. Carry has scored double-digits in over half of the Flashes' games and is ninth in the Mid-American Conference. Malique Jacobs continues to lead both sides of the court leading the NCAA with 3.5 steals per game.Â
Scouting Miami University Redhawks
The Miami University Redhawks men's basketball team (6-8) is returning home after opening conference play with a loss at Central Michigan University. The Redhawks are currently 5-4 at home and 0-1 in MAC play.
In their most recent game against the Chippewas, they tied their lowest-scoring game at 56 points, only shooting 34 percent from the field. To make up for the low percentage, they were able to dominate in other areas with 20 of their points being in the paint and 17-second chance points.
Redhawks' forward Anderson Mirambeaux left his mark last game by getting his first double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Mekhi Larry is looking to redeem himself after scoring only 7 points in the last game.Â
