Flashes Look to Bounce Back Against Fresno State

Kent, OH – The Kent State Men's basketball team is preparing for their last home game of the three-game home stand this Saturday, November 11 against Fresno State inside the M.A.C. Center. Tip-off time is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will air on ESPN+. Saturday night's game will be dedicated to those who have served and are still serving.
Last time out
The Golden Flashes are looking to bounce back from a thrilling double OT against James Madison on Thursday night. The Flashes were defeated 113-108. Kent will have less than 48 hours to not only mentally prepare, but physically prepare for Fresno's veteran team. Despite Thursday night's loss, the Flashes had several career-highs including two double-doubles. Jalen Sullinger led the game with a career-high 30 points. Both Chris Payton Jr., who recorded a career-high 25 points and 17 rebounds, and Giovanni Santiago who recorded 10 points and a career-high 11 assists had double-doubles. Five Flashes recorded double-digits including Reggie Bass with 22 points, and VonCameron Davis with 12 points. The Flashes ended their home game-winning streak with 23 straight victories.
Key Players for Fresno State
Fresno returns three returning starters: Isaiah Hill (12.6 PPG), Eduardo Andre (8.3 PPG), and Leo Colimerio (5.3 PPG). Fresno State returned most of its core from last season. In addition to the three returning starters, Head Coach Justin Hutson also brought back Donavan Yap Jr. (6.1 PPG), Steven Vazquez Jr., Chuks Isitua, and redshirt freshman Jeff Sims Jr. for the 2023-24 season. Xavier DuSell finished their last game with a team-high 19 points, knocking down four 3-pointers and going a perfect 7-of-7 from the charity stripe. Eduardo Andre recorded 17 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks. Newcomer Jalen Weaver chipped in 12 points.
Series Match-up
The Golden Flashes will meet Fresno for the first time since 1982. This will only be the second time in program history the two teams meet. Fresno State's last win was 56-35 at home. The 'Dogs will play in the M.A.C. Center for the first time.
