
Flashes Fall to Missouri St in Paradise Jam Tournament

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - The Flashes will fight for third place in the Paradise Jam Tournament against Fordham tomorrow Monday, Nov. 20 after a 56-52 loss against Missouri State. Tip-off time is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. ET and will be available on ESPN+.
In a low-scoring game, neither team could get a comfortable lead. Giovanni Santiago helped the Flashes cut the Bears lead by six points with a three with seconds left in the first half. The Bears made it difficult for the Flashes shooting 41.7 percent from the three while the Flashes only shot 22.2 percent. Neither team was excelling offensively in the first half, but VonCameron Davis hit a shot from the field with 15 minutes left leading the Flashes to only trail by three points.
The Bears failed to capitalize on Donovan Lee's defensive takeaway, Julius Rollins slipped past the MSU defense for a break-away dunk to get Kent State within 52-49 in the second half. Cli'Ron Hornbeak was the only Flash with double-digits recording 11 points and seven rebounds. The Flashes failed to take advantage of the charity stripe and only shot 13.6 percent from the three.
Missouri State's Donovan Clay scored a game-high 18 points and Matthew Lee led the Bears to Victory with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Lee sealed the Bears' victory recording four free throws in the final 27 seconds of the game.
