Flashes Unveil 2024 Schedule

KENT-Â The Golden Flashes baseball team will welcome in Ohio State, Pitt and Saint Joseph's in non-conference play, highlighting an exciting and challenging 2024 schedule.
The Golden Flashes will have 24 home games inside the friendly confines of Schoonover Stadium. The Flashes went 22-1 at home last season, the best mark in Division-I and own a 14-game regular-season home win streak heading into 2024, the longest in D-I.
Kent State will have to wait until March 5th to try and extend the streak, the Flashes open up with their first 11 games on the road.
The season starts on February 16th as the Flashes head south to UNC-Wilmington for a three-game set. The two squads have met 15 times previously with Kent State owning an 8-7 advantage. UNC-W won the last two contests, way back in 2013 and the Seahawks are coming off a solid 34-23 season and won the Colonial Athletic Association tournament. For the second-straight season, Kent State will embark on a 10-day, eight-game road trip to close out the road portion of the non-conference schedule.
Week two has the Flashes in Ruston, Louisiana to take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs for a three-game set, February 23-26. It will be the first ever meeting between the two programs, La Tech went 28-31 last year including 19-13 at Love Field. The Flashes will head straight to Alabama for a two-game, mid-week series with the Troy Trojans on February 27th and 28th. It will again be a first-time meeting between the programs, Troy is coming off a 40-22 season that saw them earn an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. The road trip ends with another first, taking on the Jacksonville State Gamecocks from March 1-3. Jax State went 27-30 last season and 17-13 at Jim Case Field.
After the long road trip, the Flashes return home for a five-game home stand. Kent State hosts Tiffin on Tuesday, March 5th to open the home slate before starting MAC play at home against Central Michigan. The home stand wraps with the front end of a home-and-home with Youngstown State on March 12th.
 After a trip to Pitt on March 19th, Saint Joe's comes to town for the MAC bye weekend, March 22-24. The Flashes and Hawks have met three times previously, with the Flashes winning all three games. Saint Joe's is coming off a 28-24-1 season and went 17-7 in the A-10 last year.
The first of two games against Ohio State comes on March 26th before the Buckeyes start a five-game home stand on April 2nd. After Eastern Michigan comes to town April 5-7, Pitt returns to Schoonover Stadium on April 9th.
Kent State will also travel to Penn State (April 16th), Youngstown State (April 23rd) and Michigan (April 30th) while hosting Clarion on April 24th. The MAC schedule has Kent State hosting Central Michigan (March 8-10), Eastern Michigan (April 5-7), Bowling Green (April 26-28), Miami (May 3-5) and Ball State (May 16-18). The MAC tournament will be the following week, May 22-25 and returns to Avon, Ohio.
