Flashes Host the Vikings for Coaches vs. Cancer Game

Kent, OH – The Kent State Men's basketball team is home tomorrow for Saturday afternoon's contest against Cleveland State. Tip-off time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET at the M.A.C Center. The game can be watched on ESPN+ and heard on ESPN Cleveland. Tuesday's game is the Coaches vs. Cancer game and the Kent State men's basketball has teamed up with the Cleveland Hope Lodge, setting up the M.A.C.C. as a donation drop-off location for the Lodge's Wish List items this holiday season. Fans are encouraged to drop off items at collection bins located in the main lobby of the M.A.C.C. through December 15.

The Golden Flashes showcased an impressive performance against South Dakota State on Tuesday night, ending in an 82-73 victory for the Flashes. Giovanni Santiago rounded out the night with 19 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Jalen Sullinger put up 17 points for Kent State while his Senior forward teammate, Chris Payton Jr. recorded his second double-double of the year with 14 points and a game-high 11 boards. The team shot 43.1 percent from the field, 37 percent from beyond the arc, and an impressive 91.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Key Players for Cleveland State
Cleveland State is 6-4 on the season, following a loss Tuesday night to Saint Mary's 57-70. Heading into Tuesday's matchup against the Flashes, Cleveland State posts a 1-1 record in conference games this season. The Vikings are led by senior forward Tristan Enaruna, who leads the team in points, assists, steals, rebounds, and blocks. Enaruna averages 16.6 points a game and 6.6 rebounds per game. Enaruna, the Dutch native, played at Iowa State and the University of Kansas prior to arriving at Cleveland State. While at Iowa State, he posted a career-high 23 points against Baylor. However, senior guards Drew Lowder and Tae Williams have kept up their double-digit point averages with Lowder averaging 13.3 points and Williams with 12.7 points.

Saturday's game is the 56-matchup in program history between Cleveland State and the Flashes. The two teams met last season and the Flashes defeated the Vikings 67-58. The Flashes have won the last five matchups against Cleveland State. The Flashes are 17-10 inside the M.A.C. Center against Cleveland State.
