Flashes Earn 20th Win Against Bulls

Buffalo, N.Y. - The Kent State men's basketball (20-5, 10-2 MAC) team earns their 20th win against the Bulls in tonight's game 72-65. The Flashes' 20th win is the eighth time Head Coach Senderoff has had 20+ victories in a season.
The Flashes struggled offensively in the first half, giving the Bulls the lead for the first 20 minutes. The Flashes only shot 32.3 percent from the field and 36.4 from beyond the arch while the Bulls shot 57.1 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from the three in the first half. Kent went on a 13-3 run over seven minutes forcing Buffalo to three turnovers. The Bulls led 35-29 at the half outscoring the Flashes 7-2 in the final three minutes.
The Flashes came out of the locker room ready to put the pieces together in the second half. The shooting percentages switched as Kent shot 53.1 percent and Buffalo shot 37.9 percent. The Golden Flashes started the second half on a 6-0 to tie the game. Despite Kent getting into foul trouble, the Bulls were not able to capitalize at the charity stripe.
Miryne Thomas led the game with 19 points, shooting 57.1 percent from beyond the arch. Sincere Carry followed recording 15 points and ten assists. Carry was also a huge asset to the defense recording a team-high seven rebounds and two blocks.
The Flashes recorded 17 offensive rebounds, finishing with 37 total boards. The 17 offensive rebounds led to 13 second-chance points; the Bulls finished with six.

The Flashes prepare for their next road trip against Western Michigan on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and can be watched on ESPN+ or heard on ESPN Cleveland.
