
Flashes Return to the M.A.C. Center for the Final Home Stretch

Kent, Oh.- The Kent State (23-6, 13-3 MAC) men's basketball team is back inside the M.A.C. Center for their final week of the regular season. The Flashes will host the Ohio Bobcats Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. The game will be available on ESPN+ or can be heard on ESPN Cleveland.
With a 13-3 MAC record the Flashes are sitting in second place behind Toledo. The Flashes look to win their last two regular-season games in hopes of tying the most regular-season wins in Kent State history that were recorded in 2007-08 with 25 victories. The Flashes are second in the Nation behind UCLA with a 20-home-game win streak.
Kent State is coming off a 79-69 road win against Bowling Green. Duo Sincere Carry and Malique Jacobs continue to be the leaders of the Flashes both averaging double-digits in points. Carry averages 16.6 points and 5.0 assists per game. Jacobs leads the MAC with 2.9 steals per game and averages 12.5 points per game.Â
The Flashes' defense has been a key component of their success as they hold opponents to 64.4 points per game. They also are ranked 66th in the NET rankings and rank 30th in Kenpom's adjusted defensive efficiency.
The Flashes have dominated inside the M.A.C. Center averaging 83.7 points per game with a +20.2 scoring margin. The Flashes have shot 47.1 percent from the field, 35.2 percent from the three, and 75.9 percent from the free throw line.
Scouting the Bobcats
The Ohio Bobcats (17-12, 9-7 MAC)Â are looking to win their final road game of the season against the Flashes. The Bobcats are coming off a 17-point loss against Miami on Feb. 25.Â
The Bobcats are currently ranked fourth in the MAC and have clinched their MAC tournament spot. Forward Dwight Wilson III reached 1,000 rebounds last week and is the fourth player in Bobcat history to reach 1,000 rebounds and points. Wilson leads the Bobcats with 16 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Following is guard Jaylin Hunter who is fourth in the MAC for steals (1.66) and assists (4.3) per game.Â
With a 4-10 record on the road, Ohio averages 75.9 points per game while shooting 44.8 percent from the field, 36.7 percent from beyond the arch, and 70.3 percent from the free throw line.
Follow the Flashes
The Flashes are at the M.A.C. Center for their final game of the regular season and senior night. The Flashes will end their season with a rivalry game against TSDTR on Friday, March 3. Tip-off time is scheduled for 6:00 PM and will be live on ESPNU or can be heard on ESPN Cleveland.
