The Flashes Look to Bounce Back Hosting the Falcons

Kent, OH - The Kent State men's basketball team (18-5, 8-2 MAC) hosts Bowling Green (10-13, 4-6 MAC) on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 7 PM. The game will be available on ESPN+ and can be heard on 850 ESPN Cleveland.
The Flashes are looking to bounce back from a rivalry loss last Friday against Akron. With the Flashes' second MAC season loss, they are now tied for second with Toledo in the Mid-American Conference.
Tuesday will mark the 170th all-time meeting between the Flashes and Falcons, the second-longest rivalry in program history. The Flashes have won the last six games against the Falcons.
The Flashes are looking to keep their 11-home game win streak alive and maintain their all-time 18-home win streak, which is the second longest in the Nation. The team has dominated inside the M.A.C. Center outscoring opponents 920-708 and holding a +19.8 scoring margin this season.
The Flashes continue to be led by Sincere Carry who averages 17 points and is second in the MAC with 4.9 assists per game. The redshirt senior has recorded double digits in 20 games this season. Malique Jacobs follows, averaging 12.2 points per game, and leads both the team and MAC with 2.8 steals per game.
Scouting the Falcons
Bowling Green (10-13, 4-6 MAC) is looking to capture their first win against the Flashes since 2019 and snap their current three-game losing streak.
Their most recent loss was against NIU on Saturday, 86-78. Both Chandler Turner and Leon Ayers III had 20-point games. Ayers has had ten 20-point games in the last 12 matchups.
Ayers plays an essential role in leading the Falcons' offense averaging 18.6 points per game, which is fourth in the league. He is also Top Five in the MAC shooting 55 percent from the arch. Guard Curtis Turner is helping lead the offense averaging 4.3 assists, putting him third in the MAC.
Bowling Green has maintained the third-highest-scoring offense in the MAC. They are averaging 77.3 points per game this season. When the Falcons record 80 or more points this season, the team is 9-1.
