Jacobs Set to Participate in 2023 State Farm College Team Skills & 3X3U Championships

HOUSTON – Malique Jacobs, who recently completed his career playing for Kent State has been selected to participate in the State Farm College Team Skills and 3X3U Championships at the Bayou Music Center in downtown Houston at 6:30 p.m. CT on March 29. The event will air on ESPN2 on April 2 at 9 p.m.Â
All-MAC Defensive Player of the year finished his senior season averaging 12.8 points, 3.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds and led the MAC with 2.6 steals in 34 games. Jacobs set two Kent State Records this season after recording 10 steals in a single game he recorded a new Kent State single-game record. Jacobs now holds the single-season steals record with 90 steals recorded this season. Jacobs not only leads the MAC with 2.6 steals but is third in the NCAA. Â
Jacobs was named All-MAC Defensive team for the second year in a row and All-MAC Second team. He was also named a finalist for the Lefty Driesell Defensive Player of the Year, an award recognizing the top defensive players in Division 1 basketballÂ
A new event this year, the State Farm College Team Skills & 3X3U Championships will feature a dynamic roster of graduating college seniors competing in a variety of competitions including team shootouts, a skills relay, and 3x3 basketball.
Intersport will stage three events during college basketball's most exciting weekend at the Bayou Music Center in downtown Houston, which it will dub Hoops House, providing ample programming for fans near and far to whet their basketball appetites ahead of the national semifinals and championship contests.
