
Men’s 4x400m Relay Team Leads Flashes in Saturday Track & Field Action

The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Korie Davis II, Asa Hodrick, Jonathan Solomon and Quintin Cooks ran the second fastest time in Kent State track and field history at the Michael Johnson Invitational on Saturday. The Golden Flashes also had student-athletes in action at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic.

Kent State placed fifth in the men's 4x400m relay, as Korie Davis II, Asa Hodrick, Jonathan Solomon and Quintin Cooks finished in 3:08.43, which is the second fastest time in school history and nearly eight seconds better than any other Mid-American Conference squad this season.
Solomon and Cooks added personal-bests in the men's 400-meter dash. Solomon claimed the No. 10 spot on the Golden Flashes' all-time performance list with a time of 47.33 seconds and finished 16th in the event. Cooks ran a personal-best time of 48.43 seconds to place 26th.
Hodrick finished 10th in the men's 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 10.53 seconds. Dejon Manning placed 30th in 10.78 seconds.
Manning, Hodrick and Solomon teamed with Kyle Sommer to take 10th place in the men's 4x100-meter relay in 40.88 seconds.
Jesse Owens Classic
Ethan Yost posted Kent State's best finish in running events for the second day in a row and took fifth in the men's 800-meter run in 1:52.01. Antoine Brown ran a personal-best time of 49.43 seconds for 10th in the men's 400m.
Aliesha Shaw led the Flashes in throwing events. Shaw recorded a season-best throw of 48'-10.25" for fifth in the women's shot put and placed 13 in the women's discus with a mark of 143'-10".
Nolan Landis added a top-10 finish in the men's discus throw, placing seventh with a season-best mark of 173'-8". Landis added a 12th place finish in the men's shot put with a throw of 53'-0.25".
Up Next for the Flashes
Kent State is scheduled to compete at the University of Louisville's Clark Wood Invitational on April 28-29.
