KENT, Ohio — Season tickets for the upcoming 23'-24 season of the Kent State men's basketball season are now on sale. Head coach Rob Senderoff announced the schedule for this season on Sept. 1 via social media.
Kent State ended their 22'-23' season with a record of 28-7 including winning 22 straight home games, tying an NCAA record for second. They capped their season by earning a MAC championship and making it to the first round of the NCAA tournament where they played #4 Indiana. After coming off a tremendous 22'-23' season, the Flashes are looking to continue their success with the new season approaching.
"We are very excited about the schedule we have in place for the 23-24 season," expressed head Coach Rob Senderoff. "Having an opportunity to play at home 15 times is great for our fans and our team."
Non-Conference Schedule
The regular season for the Flashes will begin with three consecutive home games at the MACC Center starting Nov. 6 against Malone then ending Nov. 11 versus Fresno State before leaving for the Paradise Jam tournament located in the Virgin Islands during Thanksgiving break. "Going to the US Virgin Islands before Thanksgiving is going to be a tremendous opportunity for us to play 3 games in 3 days against some very good competition. We have several teams that will be picked at or near the top of their leagues and we will certainly be tested for league play in January," Rob Senderoff stated.
The Golden Flashes will face challenging matchups during their non-conference including the defending Colonial Conference champions, College of Charleston who previously went 31-4 and who also beat Kent State 74-72 in a thrilling matchup last season. To end the non-conference Kent State will be on the road facing up against Oregon on Dec. 21 and then St. Mary's on Dec. 29.
MAC Schedule
Kent State will be starting off the new year by tipping off their conference schedule with their first two out of three games at home, where the first will be against Ball State on Jan. 2 and then against Toledo on Jan. 9.
Halfway through conference play the Flashes will also be attending the Sun Belt Challenge tournament beginning Feb. 10 where Kent State will be hosting and visiting a team.
The top eight teams in the conference standings will compete in the 2023 MAC Men's Basketball Tournament at Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse from March 14-16.
"The MAC is the MAC and every game will be a challenge. I can't wait to get things started," Rob Senderoff said.
