
Cross Country Back in Action at Spartan Invitational

Following strong performances to open the season, the Kent State cross country teams will look to continue building momentum on Friday at the Spartan Invitational, which will be run at Forest Akers East Golf Course.
The women's 6K will start the day at 10 a.m. with the men's 8K to follow at 10:40 a.m.
Last Time Out
The men's team proved worthy of the No. 14 spot in the NCAA DI Men's Cross Country Great Lakes Regional Preseason Rankings and opened the season with a win at the Tommy Evans Invitational on Sept. 1. Junior Baidy Ba finished third (18:29.7) and paced the Golden Flashes, while senior Ethan Yost (sixth, 18:38.2) and sophomore Dylan McBride (11th, 18:49.2) also posted top-15 finishes.
Junior Sydney Gallagher led the women's team with a time of 18:35.4 to finish 11th. Junior Lany Straub finished 14th in 18:40.0 in her Kent State debut. The Flashes placed seventh as a team.

Kent State's next scheduled competition is the Live in Lou Classic on Saturday, Sept. 30, in Louisville, Kentucky.
