
Flashes Announce Winner of the 2023 College Football Playoff Foundation Award

KENT, Ohio — The College Football Playoff Foundation announced their Big Day for Teachers earlier today. The organization was founded in 2015 and provides an opportunity for universities, coaches, and student-athletes to take part in its mission of elevating the teaching profession by recognizing inspiring teachers at games, events and on social media.
The College Football Playoff Foundation is the largest sports entity in America that supports educators. The CFP foundation uses the platform of college football such as recognizing, professionally developing, recruiting and retention, and using resources to show appreciation for educators in communities across the country.
Awards
Due to his dedication to his students, this year's inspiring teacher is Jake Der. Mr.Der, who is a long time Kent State fan, is an AP history teacher who works for James A. Garfield high school. KSU Athletics presented a $1,000 award earlier today at Garfield High School.
