
Kent State Cross Country Heads to Live in Lou Classic

Cross country season resumes on Saturday, Sept. 30 as Kent State the 22nd annual Live in Lou Classic, hosted by the Louisville Sports Commission at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park.
The men's 8K Gold race is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. with the women's 5K Gold race to follow at 10:15 a.m. The meet will be streamed through FloTrack, which requires a subscription to watch.
Last Time Out
The men's team impressed with a fifth-place finish at the Spartan Invitational on Sept. 15 and jumped to No. 12 in the NCAA DI Men's Cross Country Great Lakes Regional Coaches' Rankings. Junior Baidy Ba was the first attached collegiate runner across the finish line and placed second overall with an 8K time of 24:42.3. Senior Ethan Yost (25:35.5) and graduate student Trey Double (25:57.2) also posted top-50 finishes.
The women's team also had a strong showing in the 6K race and placed fourth. Juniors Lany Straub (22:42.9) and Sydney Gallagher (22:54.9) led the way in 37th and 38th, respectively.
Up Next for the Flashes
Kent State will return to action in two weeks with runners in action at the Falcon Invitational Friday, Oct. 13 and Pre-Nationals on Saturday, Oct. 14.
