
Trio of Flashes Earn MAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week Awards

CLEVELAND – Kent State student-athletes Sean Callahan Jr., Lanee Hall and Alexandre Malanda were recognized for their outstanding performances at the season-opening Jud Logan Memorial with Mid-American Conference Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Callahan Jr. tied the Kent State Field House facility record in the men's 60-meter dash with a time of 6.67 seconds that is the fastest in the MAC this season and ranks 20th in the country. His time is tied for the second in school history and is the fastest by a Golden Flash since 2007.
Hall won the women's triple jump with a personal-best mark of 40'-3.5" to rank 39th in the nation.
Malanda posted a MAC-best mark of 50'-11.5" to win the men's triple jump and sits at No. 12 on the national performance list.
Kent State will be back in action at the Kent State Field House on Friday, Jan. 19 for the annual dual against rival Akron. Field events are slated for 3:30 p.m. with running events starting at 4 p.m.
