
Women’s Pentathlon Performances Highlight Day 1 of Doug Raymond Invitational

KENT, Ohio – Sophomores Svenia De Coninck and Matilde Carboncini posted top-five all-time women's pentathlon scores as Kent State hosted the opening day of the Doug Raymond Invitational on Friday.
De Coninck totaled 3,864 points to move into third on the Golden Flashes' all-time performance list and finished second in the competition. She recorded new personal-bests in long jump (18'-4.50") and 800-meter run (2:25.77). Carboncini sits fifth in school history with a total of 3,797 points and PR'd in high jump (5'-5.75"), shot put (37'-0.25") and 800m (2:29.66) while placing third.
Liam Vinskovich nearly punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships in the men's high jump but was unable to clear the bar at 7'-2.25". Vinskovich set a personal-best for the second time in three weeks with a mark of 7'-0.50" that is tied for fourth in Kent State history.
Kristian Kneffler continued his outstanding start to the season and recorded a height of 17'-2.75" to win the men's pole vault. Kneffler has posted marks above 17' in all three meets this season.
Keeli Dunaway and Grace Adegoke rounded out the Flashes who won field events on Friday. Dunaway won the women's long jump with a personal-best of 18'-9.75", while Adegoke cleared 5'-6" to win the women's high jump in her Flashes debut.
On the track, Kent State claimed the top two spots in both 200-meter races. Dejon Manning won the men's event with a time of 21.72 seconds and Connor Boland clocked 21.85 seconds for second. Yissis Cortijo Dominc ran a season-best time of 24.89 seconds to win the women's race and Jericha Petrella took second in 25.08 seconds.
Ayden Bath leads the men's heptathlon by a wide margin after earning 3,167 points on Friday. Bath had top two finishes in all four events and posted PRs in the 60-meter dash (7.04), long jump (23'-8.75") and shot put (39'-11.50").
The Doug Raymond Invitational will conclude on Saturday with events scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.
