Flashes Return to the Mat at Franklin and Marshall Open

KENT- The Golden Flashes will ring in the new year and return to the mat on Friday, taking part in the 68^th Franklin and Marshall College Open in the Philadelphia suburb of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

This will be the third time the Flashes have participated in the Open, joining the 2013 and last year's squad. This year sees a massive field of over 400 wrestlers and 29 schools will take part in this year's Open. It will be a very talented field as well with eight of the 10 weight classes seeing at least one wrestler ranked in the top-33 by FloWrestling. The most loaded field will be at 133 pounds with the top-five seed all nationally ranked, the 197-pound and 285-pound brackets see the top-four seeds ranked.

Kent State has seen success at the Franklin and Marshall Open with a wrestler placing during each of the first two trips. Alex Rice finished sixth at 165 pounds in 2013 and Blake Schaffer placed sixth at last year's Open at 197 pounds.
