Kent, Ohio- The Kent State soccer hosts the Western Michigan Broncos Saturday October 5th at Dix Stadium. The first 100 fans into Dix Stadium will receive a replica black Kent State soccer shirsey. Kickoff is currently slated for 6 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Flashes drew with the Bobcats 0-0 on a wet Sunday afternoon in Athens.
Both sides generated some goal scoring opportunities in the first 45 minutes but neither team could find the go-ahead goal. Goalkeeper Heidi Marshall made a pair of terrific saves in the 9th and 27th minutes in one-on-one opportunities to keep the score level.
The Flashes came out of the halftime break and generated a goal-scoring opportunity in the 47th minute. Alanna Raimondo played a long through ball up to Alisa Arthur who got around the last defender but couldn't take the last touch around the Ohio goalie. Jules Dolinski took the rebound of the Arthur shot and shot it near post but was caught by Celeste Sloma in net
Ohio did put what would've been the go-ahead goal in the back of the net in the 89th minute, but the officials ruled the Bobcat attacker offside.
Rising in the Record Book
Alisa Arthur is rising in many categories of the Kent State record book. The senior is now ninth in both goals (22) and points (58) and is knocking on the door of being in the top 10 in assists and shots on goal.
Great Goalkeeping
Goalkeeper Heidi Marshall has been in great form to start MAC play. The senior has only allowed one goal in the first four games of conference play. Marshall has played all 360 minutes in goal recording 12 saves en route to three shutouts.
