McGuire Matches Season-High to Start Rivalry Weekend

KENT, Ohio โ Junior Mackenzie McGuire led all players with 19 kills as Kent State was defeated by rival Akron, 3-0 (18-25, 17-25, 14-25), in a Mid-American Conference volleyball contest at the M.A.C. Center on Friday.
McGuire's total tied her season-best performance in the conference opener against Eastern Michigan on Sept. 26. Junior Kendall White recorded 20 assists and freshman Lesley Furuta tallied a team-high seven digs.
The Golden Flashes (1-21, 0-12 MAC) will attempt to split the season series as part of the '50 Years of Kent State Volleyball' celebration on Saturday. First serve at the M.A.C. Center is scheduled for 4 p.m.
