KENT – Kent State Men's Basketball has signed Landon Vanderwarker and Quinn Woidke to Grant In Aid agreements to join the program.
Landon Vanderwarker, comes to Kent from Delaware, Ohio where he has played for Delaware Hayes High School the last two seasons. He helped lead his team to a state semi-final appearance last season. Vanderwarker is a physical wing that has a versatile skillset on the offensive side of the floor. He can get by bigger defenders with his quickness and ball skills on the perimeter. He is also able to punish smaller defenders by taking them to the basket while using his size and strength.
"Landon is a versatile forward from a winning program.", said coach Senderoff. "He has shown the ability to score both inside and out along with having a high basketball IQ. He is a tremendous young man from a great family, and I am very excited to coach him here at Kent!"
Quinn Woidke comes to Kent from West Lake, Ohio. He currently attends St. Ignatius High School where he is a standout guard. Woidke led his team to a state championship a year ago by being a tough, hard-nosed player with unshakable confidence. He has a quick first step that allows him to get past defenders and an elite ability to make tough shots and score the basketball.
"Quinn is a guy that we have prioritized with our recruiting for years and I am ecstatic that he will be a Golden Flash.", coach Senderoff added. "He is a high school state champion and a high level competitor. Quinn has tremendous confidence and has a knack for making winning plays because of his toughness. I can't wait for Quinn to arrive on campus!"
Both signees have been mentioned as candidates for Ohio Mr. Basketball.
